Heledd Fychan Canol De Cymru - South Wales Central

Last week, I had the honour of being selected to be part of the Senedd’s delegation to the British Islands and Mediterranean Region Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Conference in Gibraltar. This year’s theme looked at how we can Attract and Retain Effective Women Parliamentarians.

I had the pleasure of presenting the Senedd Reform Diversity Recommendations to the conference. It was great to share good practice and hear about the different challenges parliaments face across the commonwealth are developing programmes to improve diversity and inclusion in decision making.

It was great to see so many women supporting other women, despite some of our political differences.
