Covid Passes update

When Covid passes came into force in October I was contacted by many constituents across the region who shared their concerns that guidance wasn’t clear enough for those who were exempt from having the vaccine and taking Lateral Flow tests due to medical conditions.

I raised this several times with the Health Minister and while guidance has been updated saying that venues should accept those who are exempt some have still been turned away due to not having a pass.

You can hear what I said here:

While I supported the implementation of Covid Passes to stop the spread of Covid, I do not support isolating people from accessing public places.

Guidance in England has been much clear on this issue, and I will continue to raise this with the Health Minister until everyone is able to access a pass.

If you or a family member has been impacted by these changes, please get in touch with my office.
